As Parkinson's Disease progresses, its victims are constantly confronted with new challanges -
Is this problem aging or is this Parkinson's?
Should I change medications?
Should I stop driving?
How long can I stay in home care?
Which long term care facility is the best for me?
Who will manage my affairs?
and so on and on in a seemingly endless list.
The keys to dealing with these issues are education in support of long term planning, and physical support services to minimize current concerns. Therefore, the Jeanne Taylor Parkinson's Support Group Patient Services involve both Patient Education, and Physical Support Services.
Patient Educational Services cover a broad range of Support Group Activities including:
Patient "Breakout Sessions" where Parkinsonians can meet with one another and
trade information
Programs presented at the monthly meetings by community experts in areas of
interest to Parkinsonians
An annual symposium sponsored by the Support Group and consisting a series of
guest speakers focusing on a particular aspect of Parkinson's Disease and its
impacts.
Physical Support Services cover a similarly broad spectrum ranging from exercise classes to transportation services.
